If you are from Melbourne, y’all might remember a little thing called SUPERDISCO. SD was Prince of Wales on a Saturday night and was lots of fun when it was kicking around circa 2010-2011 until it got closed down. Bad things happen to good people and SD suffered the wrath of some very angry mothers of underage girls who got snapped making out with their tits out and were put on the Facebook page sued the club.
Embarrassment for all parties involved.
This was a long time ago, but the issues of ethicality and responsibility are still prevalent. Especially because underages are still everywhere and people my age are getting hit on by 17-year-olds with fake IDs, but also because there is a lot of finger pointing going on. It is easy to think that whoever took the photo is a baddie and should probably know better. However, mothers of underage biddies getting trashed and hooking up with their similarly underage friends in slutty clothing, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? Is the problem perhaps, not that there are roaming photographers capturing these moments as they occur, but that your daughters are exhibitioning themselves without a note from home? I don’t know, whatever, it just seems obvious, but what do I know, I never went to a private school like those girls (hehehe).
What I do know though, is that there is some serious moral ambiguity about nightclubs and their intentions. For the most part, nightclubs are places that house drunk people and play loud music and sell drinks so that the drunk people get more drunk and buy more drinks and so on and so forth. They are for people over the age of 18 because often there are people doing stupid shit without many consequences except maybe a hangover. They are a business that thrives on a) intoxication, b) music, c) guys trying to pick up and, d) girls who look like they are going to put out so c)’s will buy them drinks.
Thats it. No morality involved.
A photo with two girls making out doesn’t ring alarm bells for club promoters because they don’t actually care whose daughters they are. They see an opportunity to advertise to c)’s the type of drunk girls that might pretend to put out for drinks and the possibility of catching a glimpse of some boob and pseudo-leso action, i.e. the makings of a sick night. So actually, these photographers were just doing their job and that’s why, parents, you need to chill the fuck out.

Haha, the article you linked to, “Fury as under-age girls used to sex-up nightclub”, funniest thing I have read today. The bar chucks up the pictures, not even thinking twice because pictures from the bar always get uploaded and are one of hundreds, but because they are underage suddenly the pictures were being used for promotions? Funny shit, probably shifting the blame because if your kid doesn’t wear a bra, gets drunk then gets into a bar and makes out with a chick for the camera, that’s not the bar’s fault, that’s yours as a parent.
