During your working week, you should be excited for the weekend’s music at the clubs and bars, but when you’re listening to the radio all day, everyday you do tend to get sick of the music that comes on. I know that I hear ‘Thrift Shop’ at least 5 times during the day! There is only so many times you can listen to Macklemore say he’s only got 20 dollars in his pocket!
First workers are complaining that they hear the same song over and over, but how much more would you complain if there wasn’t any music at all? It would make your day pretty boring if you’re stuck listening to your boss go on with shit. At least with the radio in the background you can appear to be listening, but really you’re singing to ‘Scream and Shout’ by Will.I.Am.
The top 10 overplayed songs include:
Number 1: ‘Thrift Shop’ by Macklemore
Number 2: ‘Scream And Shout’ by Will.I.Am
Number 3: ‘Bom Bom’ by Sam and the Womp
Number 4: ‘Don’t Stop the Party’ by Pitbull
Number 5: ‘Boom Boom’ by Justice Crew
Number 6: ‘Battle Scars’ by Guy Sebastian
Number 7: ‘Don’t Worry Child’ by Swedish House Mafia
Number 8: ‘Gangnam Style’ by PSY
Number 9: ‘Rest of My Life’ by Ludacris
Number 10: ‘Beauty and a Beat’ by Justin Bieber
Sometimes listening to what appears to be your favourite song at the time, turns out to be your most hated song because you’ve heard it one too many times. However, on the plus side at least you are learning the words for when the weekend comes and you’re drunk belching out your best vocals to that song you have heard about 25 times on average during the week.
On the other hand, if you do have a favourite song you just cant get enough of, at least you don’t have to call the radio station and make a request because chances are the song will come on in the next 5 minutes anyway and then again in the next hour. I suppose it all depends on the individual; me personally, I love listening to the radio even if I hear a song a million times, saves me trying to pick a song from my iTunes library, which consists of over 900 songs.
Bottom line, yeah the radio can overdo it, but be thankful you can get through your long day of work with some music in the background and if your job title doesn’t allow music, then that’s unlucky for you. I guess you could sneakily listen to an iPod, you know the whole put the earphones cord under your shirt, then around your neck and over and in your ear? Then make sure your hair covers your ear and then you’re set for the day!
