When one thinks of European dance music, usually the likes of Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta come to mind, not ’90s Europop groups singing about a bus named after their own band. How times have changed!
But Australia is soon to go on a blast from the past: The Vengaboys (and Vengagirls) are heading to Oz on their Bussing To The Beach tour to take us back to the simpler times (*cough*) of the late 20th century that was only easy because our parents paid for everything.
Though considered pretty daggy by today’s standards (hell, they were daggy back in the ’90s too!), the Vengaboys were huge! With hits like ‘We Like To Party’, ‘Boom Boom Boom Boom’ and ‘We’re Going To Ibiza’, there’s no denying these songs were extremely catchy. Now us Aussies get the chance to hear them all over again. Whether they hold up in today’s world is questionable (well, not really; it’s very dated), but it’ll be fun all the same.
With fellow ’90s dance group Twenty 4 Seven, who made the early ’90s hit ‘Slave To The Music’, supporting the Vengaboys (making the Vengabus very crowded!), this is going to be an absolutely rad tour.
