Surfers Paradise is the Gold Coast precinct attached to the archive’s featured Sin City card. Cavill Avenue was a separate precinct on the old site. This page is here so the Coast has the same city → precinct → venue shape as Melbourne and Sydney. It is not a complete Surfers club guide.
Use it as visitor-strip geography. The Gold Coast city hub is the parent — and it is honest that this city is secondary to the six capital guides, still a real hub, not an invented strip ranking. The city-wide register is all Gold Coast venues. Broadbeach, Burleigh, and other coastal names from later conversation are a backlog. Missing ≠ closed.
How this night differs from the city index (and from Brisbane)
The Coast does not yet have a second seeded walking-map sibling on this rebuild. Cavill Avenue lived as its own precinct URL on the old site; it is not a live sibling page here. That absence is a research gap, not a claim the avenue closed.
Do not treat Surfers as Fortitude Valley. Brisbane’s late strip is a declared entertainment precinct in a river city. Surfers is a visitor high-rise grid with a handful of large rooms and hotel bars that turn over. The tempo is tourist-strip, not neighbourhood-pub. If you want a Queensland late night that is a walking neighbourhood, that is a Brisbane question. If you want the Coast, stay on the Coast.
The Gold Coast hub also notes that the old nav labelled this city GoldCoast and mixed /goldcoast, /gold_coast, and /gold-coast. Canonical is /gold-coast/. This precinct path stays /gold-coast/surfers-paradise/.
Walking the strip
Cavill Mall and the streets that run toward the beach are the visitor pin. Orchid Avenue sat on older club maps as the late-room edge. You do not need a numbered crawl. You need one room you intended — a club floor from the archive, or a hotel bar if the night is a first pour — and a way back to the hotel that does not assume a second suburb.
This is destination geography. People fly in, stay in a tower, and walk the strip. That walk is short and crowded on weekend nights. It is a poor place to invent a four-club itinerary from 2011 names. Confirm IDs, dress codes, and whether the room still operates before you travel.
Broadbeach is a different decision down the light rail. It is not seeded as a precinct page. Do not add it as an encore because this map felt thin.
Seeded rooms as historical character
Sin City is the featured archive card (/gold-coast/all/sin-city/). Other Surfers rooms from the September 2011 listing are historical directory copy. Treat them as character. Confirm whether a name still trades. This page will not invent a current lineup to fill the gap.
The precinct is marked historical on this rebuild because the Coast listings still need a verification pass. That flag is honesty, not a ranking.
How /gold-coast/all/{venue}/ works
Canonical profiles live at /gold-coast/all/{venue}/. /search/gold_coast/all/ 301s to the city index. This Surfers page is the walking map, not the parent. Nested aliases resolve to the city-wide path.
Missing ≠ closed. A Cavill or Orchid Avenue name from 2011 may be unmarked because it has not been rewritten. A seeded card may outlive the operator. Verify on the venue’s own channels. Hours belong to the room.
What this page will not claim
No star ratings. No live covers. No “best club on the Gold Coast.” No current hours. Confirm the door. 18+. Drink responsibly. Use the city hub if you are still deciding whether the Coast is the night at all.
Cavill geography, Orchid Avenue memory, and light-rail temptation
Cavill Mall is the visitor pin. The streets that run toward the beach are the short walk from a tower hotel. Orchid Avenue sat on older club maps as the late-room edge. Those names are geography, not a ranked trio. Cavill Avenue was a separate precinct URL on the old site and is not a live sibling page here. Missing ≠ closed. Do not treat that absence as a claim the avenue shut; treat it as a research gap.
Sin City is the featured archive card. Confirm IDs, dress, and whether the name still trades before you fly. Tourist-strip names turn over faster than a Fitzroy pub or a Salamanca hotel. That turnover is the Coast-specific honesty. This page is marked historical because the listings still need a verification pass — honesty, not a ranking.
Broadbeach down the light rail is a different decision. It is not seeded. Adding it because this map felt thin is how groups spend the night on the tram. Stay on the Surfers grid you can walk from the hotel.
Do not clone Fortitude Valley advice onto this strip. Brisbane’s late precinct is a declared neighbourhood in a river city. Surfers is high-rise visitor geography. Do not clone The Rocks either — sandstone courtyards are not Cavill Mall.
The old nav mixed /goldcoast and /gold_coast. Canonical is /gold-coast/ on the city hub and /gold-coast/surfers-paradise/ here. /search/gold_coast/all/ 301s to all Gold Coast venues. Use that index only to fetch a written profile, then stand on the strip you verified. 18+. Drink responsibly.
