This is a nightlife directory, not a concierge and not a booking engine. Write when a listing is wrong, when you want to ask about advertising, or when you have a guest-post pitch. Do not write for a table, a guest list, a birthday buy-out, or tickets. The corrections inbox is [email protected].
The form on this page is for the same three jobs. If the form is unavailable, use that address. We will not publish archived personal author emails from the old advertise capture as if they were current staff inboxes.
What to send for a venue correction
Send the canonical URL if you have it: /{city}/all/{venue}/. That is the venue home on this rebuild — not /city/precinct/venue/. Name the city, the trading name, and what is stale: closed, renamed, moved, wrong type, wrong precinct on the walking map. If the card is marked historical, say whether the room still trades and under what name.
Useful extras: a link to the venue’s own site or social channel, and whether you are the operator. We still verify. A correction is not a sponsored rewrite. We will not accept a purchased five-star quote as content. We will not add live hours or a cover price that we would then have to keep true.
If you want a new room filed, say which city hub it belongs under — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Gold Coast, Canberra, Darwin, Newcastle, or Cairns — and whether it is a nightclub, cocktail bar, pub, lounge bar, or wine bar. Geography first. Type second. No ranking request.
Operators who can edit the repo may prefer Keystatic (/keystatic in local or GitHub mode) so the change sits in git with the rest of the CMS. Email still works if you cannot.
What we will not do from this inbox
We will not hold a booth. We will not add you to a guest list. We will not sell tickets. We will not call a door on your behalf. We will not tell you whether a named club is open this Saturday — that is the venue’s job, and our cards say so.
We will not invent a “best of” placement in exchange for a booking or an ad. Editorial city guides and type pages do not take paid rankings. The advertise page explains how the old site sold IAB units and takeovers; those 2014 figures are historical. Ask for a current quote if you want media. Do not paste the archive CPM into a brief and cite us.
Guest posts are editorial, not a paid backlink product. If you want a branded city guide, say so and expect it to be labelled. Pitch a precinct walk, a lockout-history explainer, or a type guide that does not invent hours. Do not pitch a listicle of “top 10 clubs” with affiliate covers.
Advertising and other mail
Media questions can use the form or the same corrections address with a clear subject line. Read advertise first so you know the rate card on that page is a 2014 museum piece. Privacy questions belong on privacy first; write only if that page does not cover the processing you care about.
If you are looking for the FAQ, start there: ID if you look under 25, no national closing time, NSW lockouts wound back from 2020, cover set by the venue, bar versus nightclub, pubs versus bars. About explains the /all/ canonicals.
Responsible use
18+ only. Drink responsibly. A message to this directory does not create a reservation, a right of entry, or a relationship with any venue. Nominate a way home before you go out — we cannot do that for you from an inbox.
If you meant to contact a specific room, contact that room. We are the map, not the door.
How to write so a correction lands
Subject lines that name the city and the room help: “Adelaide / Distill — closed” is usable; “please update my bar” is not. Paste the live URL you saw, even if it is an old underscore slug — those 301 to /{city}/all/{venue}/, and seeing the inbound path tells us which alias still circulates. If you are not the operator, say so. Rumour that a club “might have reopened” is not enough to take a historical banner off.
Advertising mail should say whether you want a city hub, a type guide, or a site-wide unit, and should not treat the 2014 advertise CPM figures as live. Guest-post pitches should name the city and the question — lockout history, a precinct walk, a type split — and should not arrive as a ranked list with cover prices. Privacy requests belong in the same inbox with enough of your sent mail to find the thread; see privacy.
We read slowly on purpose. Nightlife copy that is wrong in a hurry is how directories become fiction. If you need a door tonight, phone the venue. If you need the map fixed for the next person, write to [email protected].
