Gone are the days of clubbing enthusiasts wearing their best dresses and heels on a Saturday night. The clubbing scene has changed not only in the drugs we take, how long we party for and the drinks we consume but also in the outfits that we wear. No more good quality dresses with our clutch matching our heels. No more well thought out outfits. No more jeans for the boys.
We’re switching dresses for crop tops and shorts and heels for flats or Vans. Glamour and skin covering is a thing of the past! The more skin you show, the better. But I can totally see why all this is changing. The smart girls have realised that a good outfit is totally and completely wasted on clubbing.
Sure, you might get your picture taken once that night, or once in every club you go to, but how often is it a full length picture? Pictures might be taken on someone’s phone, but how much can you really see in them?
Clubbing is dark, sticky and sweaty! Of course you’re not going to waste a new dress on it anymore. Who really sees your outfit when you’re in a sea of people pushing through to the bar? Who actually cares if you wear the same dress twice? How are you going to get all those vodka raspberry stains out of that white dress? You’re going to be sweaty regardless. And heels, puh-lease, we don’t want no hammertoes.
Us girls have evolved with the times and people and changed our outfits to suit our destinations. Don’t be left behind, if you’re still wearing a gorgeous, expensive outfit and you’re going to Kings Cross, you’re a twat. Festival clothing is now a thing of the clubs.
