What To Expect @ Transit Bar

Transit Bar is one of the best stops on a weekend pub crawl, or for a pizza and a drink after work. They are located right in the centre of Civic, next to Indian affair and right around the corner from the local YHA.

The pub is inset into the ground, and has a wrap around bar and dance area (which is open on clubbing nights). The people are mostly in their mid twenties to early thirties, although it its gaining popularity with all kinds of people due to their cheap lunch deals.

They have a wide range of beers, I had the Kosciusko Pale Ale. It was a disappointment of a beer, as it was bitter and extremely hoppy. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to try anything else, but I can say for sure do not drink Kosciusko Pale Ale.

However, their pizza was very nice, we had the margarita pizza it had a good base with well flavoured ingredients. The baseline pizza of any bar that sells pizza, and therefore a good way to judge how the place stacks up.

The important thing about Transit Bar, and the main attraction to the place is of course the live music. Transit used to have a reputation of a dive bar in a hole, but now its reputation is of a dive bar in a hole that does great live music.

They have regular performers, as well as karaoke nights and even album launches. If you’re a fan of the live music scene, then Transit Bar is the bar for you.
