Stephen Merchant, British comedic actor and co-creator of The Office, has recently created and starred on another hit TV show called Hello Ladies, where his character Stuart lives in Los Angeles hoping to meet the woman of his dreams, provided she’s a gorgeous supermodel who by proxy makes him the cool dude he only wishes he could be. I didn’t get into this show straight away, but after a few episodes, I got sucked in.
The Big Bang Theory has to be just about the most popular sitcom on TV at the moment, if not the most popular TV show in general, with 20 million viewers who tuned in to see the current season’s opening episode. Who’d thought that the simple premise of a hot blonde having to deal with four nerds’ social awkwardness could churn out season after season and get people laughing hysterically?
No, I’m not talking about drinking yourselves silly in the office you work in (instant dismissal right there!), I’m talking about the excellent television series The Office (American version). Whether you find the American or British to be superior is a big debate amongst hardcore fans that I won’t even get into (I think the fact I’m talking about the American version sums up the version I like more; “USA! USA!”).
Shocking, controversial. These are just some of the words you’ll hear about SBS2′s new series ViveCoolCity. Remember how SBS used to be notorious for foreign movies with graphic sex scenes? This is a show that they had to show at 11:30pm! Yeah, it’s even hardcore by SBS standards!
Now I’m sure y’all have heard that the megababestars of OMG Geordie Shore are coming to Australia to film the next season of the show. I am also sure following this information there has been some degree of fantasising about how you’re gonna be when you meet them at a club and how you might hook up with Gaz/Vicky and get the side of your face and probably your butt on MTV.
I love TV and I’m not ashamed to admit it. TV gives you choice, consistency, and it is always there for you. Waiting eagerly for you to come home, watching over you while you fall asleep. TV is the best companion you can have. Not only this, but TV shows mean I can be committed to a fulfilling, long term relationship.
