They say that a person’s taste in music is a key to their soul, to get an idea of what they’re like on the inside. In this increasingly digital world where CDs on a shelf are slowly becoming a thing of the past thanks to downloading tunes onto your laptop, this isn’t possible as it used to be. The best way to do this would be to look at the music page on someone’s Facebook to see which bands and singers they liked. The same applies to all the types of pages one can like on Facebook, such as a nightclub’s Facebook page.
Though liking, or even just being tagged at, a club’s FB page may make you look cool for your taste in music via the club’s DJ, but what about strip clubs? Throughout history, sex has been a taboo subject that causes all sorts of reactions like laughter or embarrassment or even anger. If you don’t talk about sex at all, you’re a prude, but if you talk about it a lot, you’re weird. It’s a loaded subject. Point being, what will peoples’ reaction be if they see that you’ve liked a strip club’s Facebook page? You can like a “normal” club’s Facebook page no worries, but if you like a strip club’s page, does that make you look sleazy?
A lot of those who liked such a page are probably confident dudes who go to these places to get lap dances from hot naked girls and wouldn’t give a fuck what others think of their after hours activities. But you could argue that’s exactly what the sleazy type of guys you’d always see at strip clubs are like. I looked at the Facebook pages of Melbourne strip clubs I’ve been to, and I’ve seen a few of my Facebook friends either liked Bar 20‘s page or were tagged there. Interestingly, two people who were tagged there were girls; does this mean they’re lesbians? Not necessarily, but people will let their dirty minds go into overdrive and make all sorts of assumptions, proving my point about why liking or being tagged on a strip club’s Facebook page will make others view you differently. Just hope it’s not your boss!
For the most part, it shouldn’t really matter if someone likes a strip club’s Facebook page. Assuming it’s mostly men that go, it’s just dudes wanting to see some titties, perfectly natural (albeit sleazy too). If it doesn’t affect you, then why do you care? Others will probably just laugh about it.
All this fuss over clubs that suck anyway.
