With so many small towns scattered across Australia, Lorne and Marion Bay should consider themselves very lucky that they get to enter the new year with something as awesome as the Falls Music and Arts Festival every year.
Both festivals run simultaneously, swapping line-ups over different days. That’s right, days. The bands are going from one festival to another almost immediately; see how much they care for their fans to work so hard at New Years!
Check out this year’s top line up:
Angus Stone (I suppose Julia’s stuck on a big jet plane, so she couldn’t make it)
Ash Grunwald
Ball Park Music
Beach House
Best Coast
Bombay Bicycle Club
Boy & Bear
Coolio (though I can’t imagine Lorne or Marion Bay are exactly a gangsta’s paradise)
Cosmo Jarvis
Django Django
First Aid Kit
Hilltop Hoods
Hot Chip
Jinja Safari
Lisa Mitchell
Matt Corby
Maxïmo Park
Millions
Sampology Presents a Falls Anniversary Live AV Show
SBTRKT
Sharon Van Etten
The Flaming Lips
The Hives
The Vaccines
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
Two Door Cinema Club
Willis Earl Beal
Unfortunately the Lorne show has already been sold out, but there still are Marion Bay tickets going at the festival’s website.
For anyone keen to see the the Marion Bay show, it will start at 9am on Saturday 29 December until Tuesday 1 January. You’re probably getting a few days off to get drunk to start another year of work, so why not start it with a huge party?
