The Arcadia Hotel Review

Review By Kalia Best

The expression “with age comes wisdom” is the perfect way to describe the Arcadia Hotel. It is one of Melbourne’s oldest venues, but boy, does it have the knowledge to entertain.

It is open 7 days a week until 3am, and there is never a dull moment. There is everything from poker nights, trivia nights, live music and $12 Angus meal deals. And if that’s not enough, there is also a heated pool deck, six pool tables, lounge area, rooftop terrace, bottle shop and two function rooms.

Arcadia Hotel has a cheap and classic pub menu. It’s the perfect place to have dinner with friends or family before partying the night away. Drinks are also reasonably priced. The menu consists of straight-forward basics. These include $4.20 Pots, $7.50 Spirits and $6.80 – $8.00 Wines.

The venue’s decor is simple. It has two large levels with the dance floor and bar situated above the lounge area and pool tables. It is ideal if you want to party hard or relax after a hard days work.

The venue seems to attract a huge university crowd. Generally those aged between 18 and 25. The most popular party nights are Fridays and Saturdays. These nights consist of cheap drinks and live music. The venue is know well for its sound. It is the only venue in Melbourne to have the world’s best sound system called ‘The Top End Nexo.’

The atmosphere is generally relaxed. However on party nights it seems overcrowded. By midnight the venue feels like a mosh pit. The atmosphere is hot and sweaty and there is absolutely no room to move.

The Arcadia Hotel is definitely one to check out. It always seems to be a bit of fun and a place for laughs. Even if you don’t have a great time – you can safely assume you will go home without a huge dint in your bank account.
