In the wake of Triple J’s ‘Twenty Years of the Hottest 100’, I decided that it was an ideal time to recap some of the golden songs that have defined the nightclubbing scene over the past twenty years. This is a compilation of one song from each year that defined, though not necessarily the best, but they are definitely classics.
Usually around the end of the year, compilation albums like So Fresh or Ministry Of Sound will be released and music video shows will play the hottest 50 songs with all the musical highlights of the past season or year on a CD (or digital download if you think CDs are “so 2001!”). You obviously enjoyed these songs if you brought the album, so you’d friggin’ love it live at a nightclub!
