A very wise writer said, "What's in a name?" That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. "Tell that to patrons of Jettblack, a born again venue after it ditched it's old name Valve and jazzed it up to being Melbourne's hottest weekend venue. I challenge you to try and get in anytime after 11.30pm without knowing someone important. Even if you do know someone on the door you'll struggle, every weekend it's a full house by 11.

The venue itself is something out of a cliche Hollywood flick, that being it went from drab to mindblowingly impressive. Downstairs hosts a darker than dark bar where you can get lost amongst the couches, the chandelier and if you're lucky get yourself something tasty to drink. Saturday nights host some house and old school beats downstairs but if you're up for something else just head upstairs.

Upstairs holds a completely different vibe; it reflects something straight out of Europe. The sound system is impressive and it makes bumping and grinding to all those scream worthy anthems much better. Enjoy a mix of the latest RnB and Hip Hop with some of those can't be beat 80s classics. If you like music to get you moving then this is the place, why else would if pack out every single weekend?Drinks are standard; the downstairs bar is very well stocked. Cafe Patron appears to be the favourite amongst regulars and the house spirits are of good quality, you won't find any of that god awful Mishka vodka.

The crowd is nothing but feel good, it's rare you'll see a fight break out. Dress code is standard club uniform, that means jeans, heels, snap backs and creativity are all expected. There isn't any snobby dress shoes and shirt rule. You'll fit in well if you're a 18-23 year old looking for a good time. If you don't have good attitudes then don't bother lining up.

Enjoy dancing like crazy, drinking 'responsibly' and sharing the night with other party goers.
