When planning a night out, deciding whether to wear high heels or not is one of the biggest decisions a girl can make. For a boy, it’s a no-brainer of closed in shoes. But for a girl, it’s a question of: do I want to look hot and suffer all night or look less hot and be comfortable? Naturally, we choose high heels (only the sensible wear flats) and here is a list of the pain us girls suffer whilst wearing them.
1. Although high heels make our butts appear smaller and our legs longer, it’s a pinch of confidence that quickly wears off. By the end of the night, our heels are bruised, our feet are blistered and there’s even a possible chance we have a broken ankle.
2. High heels deter us from being able to make a dash from those sleazy boys who are trying to pick us up. It makes us slow and unbalanced, giving the opposite sex time to catch up and think we are just playing hard to get (FYI, we aren’t).
3. Balancing in high heels becomes an accomplishment that us girls achieve from a young age. But even as the years go by, some nights it’s just harder to stand than others. Wearing high heels causes our balance to become off and making it so easy to fall over. Not only is it the fall that is embarrassing, the trying to get back up is just as bad. That’s not to mention the attention we draw to ourselves, in particular the security guards who then tell us we’ve had enough jungle juice and it’s time to hit the road.
4. When making the decision to wear high heels, it’s good to think ahead to a club that won’t have stairs. Not only is standing alone an achievement in heels, but trying to brace those stairs is a big no-no. Not to mention the looks we get from the boys below us (we know our dress has become shorter with each step we take).
5. Some nights us ladies just want to boogie on the dance floor with our girlfriends. This simple task made very, very difficult by high heels. Our dancing becomes off-balanced, sloppy and very uncoordinated.
6. And lastly, that end-of-the-night much-needed Maccas trip becomes a mission and a half as the walk takes twice as long in heels. Why not take the heels off you ask? Well, how appealing would we look wearing a nice outfit walking the streets for a feed shoeless? Any chance of a free ride home or a last minute booty call would be all but overlooked.
