Cue the drum roll and loud gasps here, as I’m about to do the unthinkable and compare two of the most opposite music festivals in Australia. You may ask how I came to this predicament? Well, I was just thinking about the fact that the lineup for Soundwave is going to be revealed soon, and how excited I am to find out which bands will be rocking the stages next year.
Australians aren’t the kind to snub any form of live music event. If the music is pumping and the bass is thumping, it’s likely to be a hit no matter what the genre is. With events like Stereosonic and Soundwave proving to be just as popular as each other, Australians have proved that they are keen as mustard to enjoy both bands and DJs.
At the moment, there’s a lot of buzz about all the upcoming music festivals like Soundwave, Groovin’ In The Moo and many others. And you know what there’s going to be a lot of at these festivals? During the last few months of 2012, I’d been looking forward to 2013 for a few reasons, and one of them was all the upcoming concerts and music festivals that looked amazing. Partygoers everywhere love to have a good time, dancing and singing along to their favourite songs. Music soothes the savage beast, though at these places they’re more likely to unleash it out of it’s cage to let loose. Nightclubs and music festivals are awesome for this very reason, but which one is better?
With this recent event, where a dude climbed up a scaffolding at Creamfields music festival in Sydney and then proceeded to fall 20m off of it, we thought it was the right time to whip out an article of the ins and outs of surviving a music festival, so you too can prevent falling off a steel structure and plummmiting head first towards the ground.
2011 had mixed outcomes for Australian music festivals with many favourites reporting their best attendance yet, while others cancelled or had poor turnouts. Soundwave, Spendour, Groovin’ The Moo, Laneway, Peats Ridge, Future Music, Tamworth Country Music Festival and Meredith Music all reported positive growth.
