Oh my freakin’ God! Aussie rock festival Soundwave have just announced their lineup for their 2013 shows, and it looks amazing! I know that’s a huge call to make considering other big festivals like Parklife, Stereosonic and Big Day Out have got top lineups too, but what can I say, I’m a rock fan through and through.
But don’t take my word for it, just look at the lineup. It speaks for itself:
Metallica
Linkin Park
Blink 182 (with Travis Barker!)
A Perfect Circle
The Offspring
Paramore
Garbage (Shirley Manson, mmm…)
Tomahawk
Stone Sour
Kyuss Lives
Anthrax
Sum 41
Dragonforce
Flogging Molly
Ghost
Duff Mckagan’s Loaded
Motion City Soundtrack
Lawrence Arms
Kingdom of Sorrow
Fozzy
Sleeping With Sirens
Cancer Bats
Madball
Vision of Disorder
Pierce the Veil
Periphery
Shai Halud
of Mice & Men
Miss May I
Woe Is Me
the Wonder Years
While She Sleeps
Such Gold
Lucero
Six Feet Under
Deaf Havana
Red Fang
Chunk! No Captain Chunk!
Memphis May Fire
There’s only two words that can sum up how epic this lineup is: fuck yeah! Merely thinking of all the thrashing of guitars, the absolute beatings that drum kits will cop, and all the deep growled screaming the singers will unleash onto their audience is getting Aussie rock fans pumped to do the rock salute and give each other concussions from headbanging like fucking maniacs!
However, they will have to vent all their energy elsewhere for a few months as these shows won’t be happening until early next year (sorry to unnecessarily get y’all prematurely excited like that!). But fortunately tickets can be purchased much sooner, on Thursday 23 August at 9am to be exact, at the Soundwave website.
Rocking across Oz, these rock titans will be playing on the following dates and venues:
Brisbane: Saturday 23 February 2020, RNA Showgrounds
Sydney: Sunday 24 February 2020, Olympic Park
Melbourne: Friday 1 March 2020, Melbourne Showgrounds
Adelaide: Saturday 2 March 2020, Bonython Park
Perth: Monday 4 March 2020, Claremont Showgrounds
But if you really need further convincing (I don’t think you do though), watch the following music videos by the headlining acts.
