Summer is finally getting closer! Yay! Rejoice! Warm weather, cold drinks, longer nights and less clothing. Oh it’s always a good thing you say? Not if you’re going clubbing. On the last night of winter this year, I went clubbing, and it was anything but cold.
Being a supportive friend and going to watch my mates DJ, I stood outside the club feeling the heat that was coming from the inside. And it wasn’t even packed yet. My gold sequin, backless dress became all that less attractive when I stepped inside and felt the instant heat heaving in the club. My two layered dress felt like hell and I immediately started to pour sweat from every single surface of my body. Delicious right?
To make matters all that bit yummier, everyone else was sweating just as bad as me so twenty seconds in to dancing I already had 30 other people’s sweat on me. Am I the only one who finds this disgusting?
Everyone is looking forward to summer and going clubbing until the sun comes up at 5am, but did anyone think of the heat? Downing drinks at the bar to try and cool myself down just wasn’t enough and I definitely was not the only person getting air outside.
Two minutes outside and I was freezing and then the steam coming out of the doorway looked more appealing. But in summer, when you go outside, it’s still going to be just as hot?
I suppose this is one of the things about clubbing that no one talks about and just accepts, but is it really that hard to ask everyone to wear strong deodorant? I suppose once you get drunk, everyone starts to look better and you don’t notice their melting makeup or sweat drenched hair stuck to their forehead.
I suppose it’s no different to sweating between the sheets. I just feel sorry for the guys who put their hands on my exposed back. Enjoy the sweat of me and twenty other people!
