There’s a point in every relationship when you discover whether you are able to bring your partner along for a fun night out on the town, or whether they are a downright drag. Personally, I’ve had one too many nights ruined by jealous partners, but I’m sure there are some advantages to having your man (or woman) join you on the dance floor. So here are the pros and cons of partying with a partner, I’ll leave it to you to decide what you prefer…
Pros
- Girls, you’ll always have someone to hold your bag/drink/shoes while you go to the bar/bathroom/struggle to find a cab.
- Guys, you’ll have a decoy to send out on the Kings Cross streets to hail down a cab when it’s time to head home (because Lord knows the cabs only stop for the hottest women in Sydney).
- It’s great to have a partner to turn to when you need to discourage an overzealous “admirer” and let them know you’re taken.
- If your partner has a fun-loving and sociable personality, night outs with them are likely to be more fun than without them.
- You have someone to take home at the end of the night and snuggle up with guaranteed.
Cons
- It’s inevitable that when you’re looking hot and tearing up the dance floor that you might attract some attention from fellow partygoers. This can become a major problem if your partner is the jealous type and gets all aggressive towards the third party. No one wants to get kicked out of the club because their boyfriend can’t keep their cool.
- There’s nothing more annoying than when you’re out for a friend’s birthday and your partner is being needy. Sometimes you just want to have a boys night or a night out with the girls and give your mates a little attention. There’s nothing wrong with that but when you have an overly needy partner in tow, this can be difficult. Your friends won’t like it either.
- If your partner is only new to your group of friends or doesn’t really get along with them, then you’ll have to babysit him/her the whole night, which will make the night totally boring for you. Yawn.
