The Ambar Army will be out in stars and stripes for the return of their Colonel, Elite Force. He’s ordering you to spend the final moments of 2011 and the first of 2012 with us at the Home of the Underground in Perth
Simon Shackleton is a lifelong soldier of electronic dance music. He has been writing, recording and releasing for 16 years under aliases Elite Force, Lunatic Calm, Zodiac Cartel, Dustbowl, Flicker Noise and others (he was once in a band with Thom Yorke – NOT. EVEN. KIDDING.).
He recruited, trained and continues to be in command of award-winning multi-genre label, U&A Recordings. Voted Best Producer at the 2011 Breakspoll Awards, he also took out Best Label for U&A Recordings (not to mention breaking Beatport records week in, week out).
In 2011, Elite Force’s sound is widely described as bass-driven warehouse music. With a sound defying simple categorisation, his DJ sets and production skills take him from electro to breaks to techno to dubstep, but always with a unique, no-compromise attitude. Elite Force routinely plays 3-hour sets (and longer), and this is what he’s set to do at Ambar this New Year’s Eve. Embracing the world of music, he is a true DJs DJ and something of a twisted visionary.
He sees 2011 out with a slew of singles, including a series of 5 EPs on U&A to mark 5 years in business at the top of the game. Case in point – Captain America.
Ambar + NYE + Elite Force + YOU = Gigantic. Colossal. Enormous. F*CKING BIG.
