5th Element Review
Review by Jimmy WallRight across from the beautiful Southbank Parklands you will find a unique venue called 5th Element: a bar, a restaurant and a bottle shop sharing the same exquisite location. When entering the 5th Element you will find yourself in the bar area, greeted by one of their lovely staff asking if you are having a few drinks at their bar or if you want to wine and dine in their restaurant.
The story of the name is as unique as the venue itself. Alchemists from the Middle Ages became the first distillers of spirits when trying to unlock the secret of eternal life. Their fascination with alcohol made them experiment with different distilling techniques and flavouring. The alchemists thought that alcohol was the "quint-essence" – hence the name 5th Element.
The bar area has a dark and classy decor with two waterfalls behind the bar, creating a very special atmosphere. The nice and relaxed background music makes it a superb place to meet up for a nice intimate date or to catch-up with friends. The restaurant area has a bit brighter and warmer decor – an absolute perfect setting for a Valentine's dinner. The atmosphere at 5th Element is truly something of its own.
5th Element's impressive drinks menu consists of 26 pages. It might take you a few extra minutes than usual to find what you want. But rest assured – you will definitely find something you will love and enjoy. Beer range from $7-$80(750ml), cider at $10-$25(750ml), full glass of wine at $7-$140, spirits at $7-$30 and cocktails at $14-$18.
This venue caters for a clientele with good taste and willingness to pay that little extra to get that little extra – while still being very affordable. As the decor gives you the impression that 5th Element is an exclusive venue it has decided to make everyone feel welcomed. Making anyone who visits 5th Element feeling pampered at this beautiful location.
The venue is open 7 days a week from 12:00 pm till late. Additionally, lunch menu between 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, tapas and share plates between 12:00 pm till late and entrée and main between 12:00 pm till late. While the bottle shop is open from 11am till late.
5th Element is where you go to be pampered without feeling you are paying too much. It's a place that has good taste in decor and good food and wine – something the staff is more than willing to share with you. 5th Element is an exclusive venue that makes their clientele feel taken care of. Letting you understand that this venue is the "quint-essence" of its location.
