Caitlan recently gave some great tips on how to plan a girls’ night out, and so it seemed fitting to follow-up with what to wear and not to wear on a night out. When going clubbing, you want to have a great night, listen to some music, spend plenty of time on the dance floor with your girls, and just generally feel good. If you’re feeling in the mood to club, then you also want to look good, right? Right.
Let me start by saying, as a very typical male, I have very little idea of what’s fashionable and what isn’t. Though men are very visual creatures, we don’t consider things like how much mascara or bronzer a girl should apply, or if they should have hair extensions, or what top goes with what skirt, and other such fashion nitpicking.
There are lots of different types of bars around. This means anyone can feel at home somewhere. But what happens when someone ventures into unfamiliar territory?
These are the most commonly considered out of place people at bars and clubs:
You’re on a night out having fun with the girls. You’re looking good and you feel like you could have any guy you want. Ooh, that’s a cute ass, you’re thinking about the hottie standing at the bar. Then he turns around and BAM, there’s something about his outfit that has you thinking, ugh, what a douche! I’ve gathered my personal favourites of things that guys should not wear on a night out.
With Spring Fashion Week in Melbourne hot on it’s heels (literally) throughout the following couple of weeks, this city’s clubbing scene is heating up in an attempt to match the new rising temperature.

The suit’s appearance in nightclubs is a rarity in modern times. Unlike the days of yesteryear, when the smooth pinstripe fit of your father’s favourite (combined with a top hat) may have won the key to your lovers heart, suits find a very difference reception in this day and age.
High heels…they’re killer - at helping you get his attention, and causing excruciating pain days after the night has ended. Sure, a little give and take is usually worth it in the art of winning your hook-up’s heart, but when your feet begin to resemble that of a chimpanzee’s toes at the age of twenty-something, it might be time to take an alternate route.
So apparently boys love to play dress ups too! Especially when it’s clubbing time so you get to pull all the ladies, and maybe show some of the boys who’s boss, with your super stylin outfits. Oh you go getters.
Although sometimes, boys, you need to be a bit more selective
The conflict between style and comfort is never more evident than after spending $250 on a new pair of killer heels that you plan on wearing on your next night ouon the town but knowing – no matter how gorgeous they are – they’re going to cause you pain. Here are a few tips to help you make it through the night.
It’s our favorite time of year again, festival season. Summer weekends are fully booked out and events fill the pages of diaries for many. It’s time to get crazy in the sun and dance the days and nights away.
