It’s our favorite time of year again, festival season. Summer weekends are fully booked out and events fill the pages of diaries for many. It’s time to get crazy in the sun and dance the days and nights away.
All big outings require some planning for us girls and guys when it comes to what to wear. Put your fashion foot forward and find an outfit that will look rocking at the festivals. This seasons styles are very adventurous and nearly anything goes but there are a few tips that could help you look the part.
Number one rule: Don’t overdo it! No one looks cool with an overworked face of makeup and sky-high heels at a festival (believe me it’s not pretty watching someone struggle though the grass with their face melting off). There is a time and a place to get completely made up and it’s not at Big Day Out.
The secret is to look like you haven’t tried too hard. This season’s trends are all about mixing and matching, bold colors, daring styles and patterns.
For the girls think Kate Moss and go frayed shorts with a cute cropped top, or be daring and add some leather. Maxis are great and relaxed and lace looks hot over anything to add something extra to an outfit. Don’t be afraid to mix colors. The old rule is out that you shouldn’t wear red with pink. Go for it! The more colors the better. Want to add a little extra? Jewelry is always a must. Don’t just add one or two pieces, go crazy. Leathers bands and beads in pastel colors look great packed on heavy.
The same goes for the blokes. Be daring. Add an extra color to your outfit or put a funky shirt over your favorite tee or singlet and distressed shorts. The shorter shorts are making a comeback (I’m not talking the type your grandpa wears that leave nothing to the imagination) and they come in heaps of fun prints and colors. Layering is still a big yes. Its looks great and is handy when you can’t decide what top to wear. Just wear them both!
Your hair always finishes off a look. Think voluptuous locks with texture and style, loose waves and beach scrunch. Boys, you don’t even have to bother styling the hair too much. The shaggy, underdone look is hot.
I’m sure you all do great in the fashion department but if you keep these few tips in mind you will surely turn heads. Go crazy with your style, be bold and show your personality though what you wear.
