Clubbing can really get you on a high (both with and without drugs), but like everything in life, the night must come to an end. It leaves you disappointed and annoyed that the night’s over and you’re still buzzed and want to party, thinking you’ve just hit your stride. Though you’re probably heading out to the nearest train station to head home or getting some Maccas breakfast, you just can’t wait until next Saturday night to get this buzz again.
However, this problem seems to be becoming a thing of the past with nightclubs starting to open around 6am. That’s right, if you’re still pumped when most clubs are booting peeps out, you can head over to one of these “morning nightclubs” (for lack of a better term; “morning nightclub” is a bit of an oxymoron, isn’t it?) I have even heard of people waking up early in the morning to get ready to go to morning nightclubs such as the weekly Jungle party at Tramp Bar and Two Floors Up without having gone out on the night before.
This raises a question: are morning nightclubs a great way to keep the party going, or are they just a silly way for clubs to keep exploiting drunks for their cash?
Genius
Morning nightclubs are a great way for people to continue partying when most places have forced them to stop. It’s a real pity this happens when you’re having the time of your life (or that night at least) with pumping music making you go off and all the babes around to chat to or perv on. But fortunately if you and your mates, or the random you’ve hooked up with, want to continue your “night”, morning nightclubs are open for business. Rather than being bored and hungover at home because of how awesome the night before was, clubbing at 6am gives you something to do instead of puking your guts out on Sunday. And from the nightclub proprietor’s perspective, it’s a great way to make even more money (not that we care too much about those greedy capitalists).
Stupid
Most people will be heading home from partying at night, so they’re too tired to party again. Even the most hard core party rockers need a break; they are human after all (even if they won’t admit it). It also just seems weird and flat out silly to see dolled up girls and guys in Ed Hardy tees lined up outside a nightclub when people are just starting their day. It’s also kind of funny to picture drunk peeps going for a Maccas run to satisfy their alcohol filled stomachs in the middle of the day when seven year olds are having a birthday party in the Maccas party room. I can’t imagine morning nightclubs would do near anywhere as much business as night nightclubs do. And there’s another problem right there; having to differentiate nightclubs open at night (who would’ve thought?!) from morning nightclubs; the “night” in “nightclub” has become redundant. Morning nightclubs make you wonder, “what’s the point?”
What do you think?
