With the Queen’s Birthday Weekend coming up this Monday the 11th of June, we’re certain our Majesty would want nothing more than for us commoners to spend the public holiday with our heads in the toilet throne. What better way to show our respect to the monarchy, after all?
To ensure we keep our minds on task, it is integral that all drinking this long weekend reflects the occasion appropriately. And with that, what better way to celebrate the Queen’s birthday than with a drinking game of no other than what we like to call, ‘Queen’.
What you will need:
1 deck of cards (large novelty cards work best in high levels of intoxication)
4 or more players
What to do:
1. Shuffle the deck of cards. For optimum shuffling of the deck, carry this task out after knocking back a couple of drinks for full randomisation.
2. Do the following corresponding actions as one card is drawn per player, play continuing to the left.
Ace- Choose any player to drink
King- All players drink
Queen- Ladies drink after singing ‘Happy Birthday’
Jack- Men drink
10- 2nd person to the right drinks
9- 2nd person to the left drinks
8- All players drink
7- Person to the right of card-drawer drinks
6- Person to the left of card-drawer drinks
5- Change of direction of play
4 to 1- Shots in the value drawn
Confused? Sing happy birthday and drink again. Happy birthday to our Majesty the Queen!
