Melbourne’s creative folks are already stoked about artistic festival Carbon Festival beginning soon, and what better way to start a festival than with a party! Happening on the third floor of Roxanne Parlour, Carbon have certainly gone all out by getting plenty of internationally renown DJs to kick off their festival in style.
The three headliners are all from New York City: DJ Nick Catchdubs mixing hip-hop, electro and rock; one man band Party Supplies who blends hip-hop with indie; and hip-hop enthusiast DJ Neil Armstrong (who has toured with Jay Z). If these guys can make parties and clubs attended by hard to please, cynical New Yorkers go off, then just imagine how good these guys must be!
There are of course more local acts playing too, such as Aussie house act Dublin Aunts and Kiwi DJ collective The ARC who specialise in electronic funk and nu-disco to show both the guests and the Yankee DJs that the party rockers of Australasia know how to hold their own. With all these different types of music playing, no one can say there’s no variety at this party.
Kicking off at 9pm on Friday April 27, tickets are $30 each at the door.
