Superbowl is the largest sporting event world wide (whether you understand who has the ball and why or not), so who better than Madonna to provide half time entertainment, right? Madonna had promised “the greatest show on earth in the middle of the greatest show on earth”, but did she pull it off?
Belting out hits such as Vogue, Music, Express Yourself and Like A Prayer to an audience of over 100 million people, the 53 year old paraded around in her gold cheerleading skirt for an entire 12 minutes, the performance receiving mixed reviews from an audience who may have ‘seen too much’ from the star once again.
Slant Magazine slammed the star, with their review comparing Madonna to a dog.
“Having you ever watched a dig vomit and then immediately lap it up? The Queen of Pop has been peddling a brand, not necessarily art, regurgitating the same themes and images and asking us to continue to consume,” the article scathed.
What did you think of Madonna’s half-time performance? Has the Queen of Pop lost the plot? Or are dogs dressed as cheerleaders what pop is all about? (Lady Gaga anyone?).
Watch the performance below and have your say!
