Having lived in South West Sydney my whole life, it has come to my attention that local nightspots are becoming increasingly popular and popping up, especially in Campbelltown. Not to say I’m disappointed. With renovations and redecorating, the local spots in the South West are crowded and happening, especially on Thursday and Friday nights.
The newest to open recently is Coco Cubano, a Cuban themed venue complete with cigars and cocktails. This bar and restaurant serves food and cocktails during the day and at night turns into a crowded bar. With almost half of their menu devoted to alcohol and cigars, it’s easy to see why their signature cocktails are becoming increasingly popular. Opening up around the corner from the renovated Macarthur Tavern, Coco Cubano has a different atmosphere than ‘The Tav’ with a less club and more bar atmosphere.
Soon to be opening to Campbelltown’s main street is new and improved club Level Two. Previously Club 209 and then The Vault, Level Two is reopening and trying to improve the Campbelltown nightlife and bring a good time back to the South West.
With venues such as these as well as the Campbelltown Catholic Club, which has the cheapest drink pricing out of them all, there is sure to be some competition between the venues. This however is great news for patrons who don’t like the hour long travel into the city and the Nightrider trip home.
Local spots are becoming increasingly popular with Mounties in Mount Pritchard and Moorebank Sports Club‘s refurbishment to include a tent bar and fire pit in the outside area. With the city an hour away, these venues are trying to not only bring people to the area, but also create a hub of nighttime venues for locals that are cool enough to go to on a Saturday night.
