I know what you’re thinking, what the hell is a fiesta? And why use that term when you can just say party? I agree I would use the term party to if I was in Australia, however, I am taking you on a journey to Barcelona, Spain to explain what you’re missing out on with the constant and wild night life there.
So you have experienced Kings Cross and Surfers Paradise at its wildest thinking that it couldn’t get any more insane? One word: Barcelona! You need to witness a whole new level of untamed partying, no rules, no limits, and free spirits (no, not the alcohol, you always have to pay for that! No matter what country you’re in!)
I am talking on a personal level here so I do have a sound knowledge on the different style of partying. As soon as you walk out of your hotel you are already exposed to the mainstream. What made the fiesta 10 times more crazy was it just so happened to be Mardi Gra season, and with Barcelona being the capital of homosexuals and same sex relationships it was only right that they celebrated hard!
Night time attire in Barcelona consists of … as little as possible. I for one know I would cover up everything from my breasts to my genital region. However, here I’m guessing it is mandatory to show everything! There was this one lady who wore a fish net body suit with nothing underneath (if only she knew I was referring to her in this article).
Furthermore walking to La Ramblas Street, the main street where EVERYTHING happens, there are random fire shows, people who dress up on the side of the road to earn the tiniest bit of money. It is a tourist highlight to see this famous street at night time.
Clubbing, ah yes, take your pick from Gothic Grates to El Born (To Party!), although you don’t necessarily have to enter into one of the clubs, because outside is just a wild, you can really see all of Barcelona’s party side and determine which you like the most. I know that being only seventeen-years-old at the time I was denied access into the nightclubs, though I was completely satisfied viewing all the naked people parading around the streets without a care in the world.
Does all this sound exciting and challenging? You can wear as little as possible and not get charged for indecent exposure. Or get dragged out of a club because you flashed your abs to that lovely lady on the dance floor.
I’m sure many other people who know what I am talking about will disagree and think Barcelona needs rules and limits, but that’s what makes this place unique and memorable. Have a blast, wear little, drink lots, party hard. Just remember the term Go hard or go home! Or back to your hotel at least.
