Celebrating 10 years as one of Australia’s most unique and successful bands, the Cat Empire is heading to the Fremantle Arts Centre Friday, February the 10th 2012 for the final show in their sellout Australian tour, before jetsetting to New Zealand and around the globe.
Breaking into the mainstream in 2003 with “Days Like These” + “The Chariot,” The Cat Empire’s unique sound is a fusion of hip-hop meets reggae and jazz is played with dirty hands, where a Cuban line meets an Aussie rule, where nothing seems in place but sounds like many places played in one earthy chord. 10 years on, the Cat Empire is still sending people to auditory heaven with their upbeat, lively and for lack of other adjectives, “happy” style.
With their Sydney show a sellout, don’t be surprised if the same thing happens in Freo, so make sure you get your tickets ASAP from here
And to get the nostalgic juices going, below is their breakthrough track from 2003… Still makes me smile
