Heya,

Been away on an adventure up to the north escaping the winter. But, this year when I arrived in Darwin (NT), I was hit with the shock of a constant wind keeping the temperature down.

First a bit of history of Darwin dry season…

During the months of April to October the Northern Territory is experiencing its dry season or Winter. So, during these months Darwin is open to visitors and it is raging. There are various things to do and heaps to eat and drink.

On our first night of exploring we decided to have drinks and nibbles at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club which is one of many beach-side venues which caters for everybody. This is one place where which was made by the locals for the locals. This venue is well-known to the local fisherman who come to enjoy a quiet drink and story about a fish.

I went with my 20 something family members and we comfortably got a table by the beach. After enjoying the sunset (which is amazing) we went for drinks. The average schooner is about $7 and Champagnes $8.50.

The dress code is smart, but very casual and NO hats at the bar.  Quite often there are functions there,so if you want to guarantee you seat near the sunset then get down there early.

If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink by sunset and a nibble on some seafood, then drop in and say g’day to the folk at the Trailer Boat Club. This is a place I would recommend if you want to catch up with people ina uber relaxing environment before heading out to other delights D-town has on offer.
