Cherry Bar Review

Review by Laura House

I don’t think there is a bar I’ve been to that has a vibe as addictive as Cherry Bar. Hidden away in the new Star Casino, Cherry Bar will give you an unforgettable night.

When you walk through the smoldering black curtains into the depths of Cherry Bar, you are literally taken into a new world. Crimson red low lights, velvet cushions and chilled out, sexy beats have you feeling as if you have walked into an exclusive upmarket party. The impeccable service has you feeling like a VIP within seconds… and that’s even before you have a drink in your hand!

The wide range of drinks available at Cherry Bar is just another reason it is so appealing, especially the impressive cocktail selection starting at $17 (not cheap, but worth it). A big cocktail fan myself, it didn’t take me long to have a cocktail menu in front of me.

Names such as “Cherry Road Flip”, “Lemon Cherry Tart” and “Cherry Cola for Lola” all caught my eye, however after taking the advice of the bartender, I decided to go for something different. “Aloe Love”, made up of a dash of aloe vera juice, Plymouth Gin, lemon juice and agave syrup, was unexpectedly delicious and stunning to look at. Then again, everything you touch inside Cherry Bar is stunning.

For its small size, Cherry Bar makes up for a lot with its incredible décor. Dimmed lights, rounded lounges and bar seating combined with dark timber feature walls make you want to move around every five minutes to soak in a fresh atmosphere. There is also a chic looking DJ playing relaxed beats to keep the vibe pumping. The only thing that it lacks is a dance floor so if you are looking to have a night full of dancing and singing loudly, I suggest you visit Cherry Bar for pre or post drinks.

The great thing about Cherry Bar is that the crowd is always different with groups starting at around early twenties. In my experience, the best time to visit is a Friday night as it is not too crowded but has enough people to create a great atmosphere.

Cherry Bar is one of the most elegant and stylish bars I have ever been to and truly makes each and every person there feel as though they are important. Make room for Cherry Bar on your next night out, everyone needs to treat themselves every now and then…or in my case, most Friday nights.
