Is there an expected age to stop clubbing?
Okay, we all reach that stage when we get over the whole clubbing scene (well most of us!), whether it’d be in our early to mid 20s, late 20s to early 30s, or even at the rare age of 18 where you go out once or twice and then decide the party scene is just not for you.
Knowing your way around and being familiar with nightclubs and indeed the city is a huge advantage. You have an understanding of which bars and what scenes tickle your fancy best, what kind of scene and people each has to offer and how pricey or reasonable each are. The answer to this question would seem to be a resounding yes, but somehow it is not, not even close.
When we go out clubbing, everyone obviously dresses to impress, even if it is just to get on the bouncer’s good books so you won’t get barred. It is human nature to check out hotties when they looking more than fine, and there’s nothing wrong with this. In fact, you’d be considered weird if you didn’t!
We all know that saying ‘If you can’t beat them, join them’. However, what does it take to enter the V.I.P world of clubbing? Everyone can slap on a tie or squish into a dress and enter a club - no biggie. Although wouldn’t it be nice to bypass the line and waltz right in like you own the joint?
Cockblocking is a slang term for an intentional action aimed at preventing someone from having sexual intercourse with another. A cockblock, or cockblocker, is a person who engages in such obstruction or intervention. Why do girls cockblock though? Women travel in packs. When one is in need of assistance, another will provide her with help; “Girl I got your back!” (Please note I am not from the ghetto). Therefore boys, if she doesn’t want you, prepare to face the wrath of her cake-faced girlfriends.
I’m not sure how many of us can truly say we ‘remember’ our initiation into the nightclub scene, but a lot of us would agree that we found the chaotic atmosphere of pumping fists and paralytic aggression a lot more intimidating than we do now. The city awash with scrapping dudes and sloppy gals at 3am is certainly an eye opener and when you’ve missed the nightrider and lost your phone the daunting sensation of your first-time comes flooding back.
Starting a brand new business must be so nerve wracking, easily one of the most stressful things a person can do. Putting all this cash you’ve gotten from various investors and sources (not to mention out of your own pocket!), everyone wants to make sure the business is going to be successful. But if your new business happens to be a nightclub, there is so much more than money to consider.
Another year, another lot of kids graduating high school, which means it’s bucks galore for Gold Coast nightclubs thanks to Schoolies. In fact, all of the Gold Coast’s businesses will be making a packet, and considering how much money Gold Coast businesses like its theme parks and resorts make thanks to the ridiculous amount of tourists that go there all year round, that’s saying something.
Statistics show that majority of women are attracted to men who dress with a sense of formality, when compared to men who choose the easy way out and dress in casual attire. Girls definitely notice slovenly dressing, and it’s a major turnoff.
About to head out for a big night and then suddenly realise you’ve been to the same club every Saturday for the past couple of months? Feeling fed up of drinking the same drinks and seeing the same faces? The bar and club scene blues happen to all of us. But one of the best cures is simply to get a change of scenery and have a drink or two somewhere else!
