Musicians make heaps of songs over the course of their careers, with only a handful of songs on each album becoming singles. But no matter how popular the band is, over time some of their less commercially successful singles just disappear into obscurity that only hardcore fans remember. It’s a real shame.
Whiskey is one of those drinks that has its own subculture, where its enthusiasts are ones able to take the drink’s stiffness and know the finer points of what separates the good stuff from the cheap rubbish. Melbourne whiskey drinkers can now revel in all things whiskey at Whiskey And Alement, a brand new whiskey bar on Russell Street.
I recently wrote an article about the tacky birthday invitations you get from nightclubs trying to get you to head over there to celebrate your birthday just so they can make money from you (a business trying to woo potential clients to make money, who would have thought!).
We’ve all heard the old saying that wine gets better with age. It seems this principle applies to beer too as Thomas French, the General Manager of The Warradale Hotel, will soon be selling six packs of Vintage Coopers Ale for the hotel’s first and limited release of the experience made available to the public.
Whenever an awesome song comes on the radio as we’re driving, we get all giddy and crank it up full volume blasting down the freeway. Even if it’s not hardcore techno the muzzas tend to play, we still think we’re fully sick. However, unfortunately there are people out there who are a little too sensitive for their own good who will crack it if they hear swear words or sexually explicit language.
Everyone has certain words that just rub them up the wrong way. Though they are just words, something about them just makes you roll your eyes or perhaps even offends you. Lots of ladies get offended by the C-Bomb for instance, but many terms you hear that are nowhere near that extreme can get you going.
If Victoria’s beer of choice is VB and Queensland’s is XXXX, then surely a craft beer will be a contender to become South Australia’s favourite beer. Craft beer is becoming vastly popular within Adelaide‘s bar culture, so much so that The Highway Hotel will soon be holding their first beer tasting festival with twenty breweries putting their precious lager out for the local beer enthusiasts arguing over which one’s the best.
My birthday’s just around the corner, so I’m totes looking forward to getting free stuff. But something I’ve been getting plenty of before B-Day are invitations from nightclubs I haven’t been to in ages to celebrate my birthday there. Aren’t I supposed to be the one sending the birthday invites? But I digress…
Soundwave, the (in my opinion) ultimate music festival to grace Australia this year, is about halfway through touring the country as we speak (well, as I write to be exact). I went to the Melbourne show at Flemington Racecourse, proudly wearing the Blink 182 t-shirt I brought from their sideshow three days earlier
Many have tried to sneak in alcohol into music festivals or some sort of big event where the booze sold inside was ridiculously expensive and no one’s willing to cough up that much money, even for booze! I’m not talking about common occurrences like people putting vodka in a water bottle or putting bourbon into a Pringles can to sneak it into the Melbourne Cup.
