The friendly banter between Australia and New Zealand has been going on for years now. Whether you say “G’day mate” or “Sup cuz?”, or if you’re bickering over who’s better at rugby or has the prettier countryside (on that note, let’s not even get into the sheep jokes…), you’ve heard all this before. Australians and New Zealanders also think the other are alcoholics, and an event that’s about to happen in Melbourne will not disprove either opinion.
Icy Wingz and Foresters Hall are hosting The Great Craft Beer Taste Off and drinkers can bask in their drunken glory. Craft beer has really taken off over the past few years, and Aussies (dubbed the Wallabeers) are notorious beer drinkers, while New Zealand (dubbed The All Hops) make fantastic wines. So now that craft beer is a thing, of course there was going to be a battle of (drunken) wits. Each drink will have no label on it, so no one can be bias by its brand; all’s fair the love of booze. Punters will give each beer they try a score between 1-5
