Future Music is an all day event of endless doosh doosh music and shirtless gym junkies showing off their ripped chest and chicken legs. So a good time for all then. But something that often gets neglected to be mentioned is all the drinking that everyone will be doing. Granted, it’s all about the music, but still.
This year’s Future Music is also launching not one, but two new bars at the Sydney and Melbourne shows thanks to our whiskey-rific mates Jack Daniel’s, each city getting a completely different bar. Sydneysiders will get the Jack Daniel’s Barrel House, a party room designed after the original Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the bare ingredients of any old whiskey are transformed into Jack Daniel’s fantastic stuff. But rest assured, this will be a loose replication of the original factory, with a dance floor, bar, and heaps of party people getting into Jack’s home brew (somehow, I doubt the original factory from the 1800s would’ve been so fun, but I digress). With a sick lineup of top DJs like Kele from Bloc Party, Gypsy and The Cat, Rudimental (DJ set), Van She and others, Sydney peeps will have a blast!
If that wasn’t enough, Melbourne will get their very own bar in the form of The White Rabbit Saloon, a replica of Jack Daniel’s saloons from the 1800s. (Think of all those all westerns your Dad liked as a kid). Live music was a big deal for bars even back in those days, but now instead of old timey country music, Melbourne will get the likes of Special Guest, Christo, Andee Frost and Otologic, Andy Hart and Myles Mac.
So rest assured, when it comes to partying and booze, Jack Daniel’s DOES know jack.
