One thing we can expect every summer are a heap of festivals, so therefore plenty of top live music acts ready to play for tons of people. The St Kilda Festival is happening this weekend, and at the heart of it is The Espy, always up for a great party. And what a party it has lined up this year!
With all its rooms playing tunes from midday onwards on Sunday 10 February, there are a heap of great Aussie acts playing all sorts of tunes that will float your boat. The party going on in the front bar will be full of crazy energy thanks to acts like hip hop group TZU, Dune Rats, heavy metal jamming vikings Barbarion, Kingswood, Money For Rope, The Mercy Kills and DJ Mu-Gen.
The Gerswin Room has a more chilled out vibe to it, with Aussie pop icon Daryl Braithwaite of ‘The Horses’ and ‘As Days Go By’ fame, supported by top Espy regulars Dale Ryder Band, Nudist Funk Orchestra, Bad Boys Batucada and Ms Butt.
Though playing in The Basement, it doesn’t mean The Espy are trying to hide these guys away from the general public, haha. Acts like The Relatives, Volts, and Swamp Moth will get you to be adventurous and head underground.
So three whole rooms of very different acts for the local festival. Talk about The Espy having pride in their community!
