It’s the weekend again and you’re thrilled that Friday is in the past and those dreadful clients who hassle you are as far away as possible! You sink a couple of schooners with your mates, play a bit of pool and engage in some pretty crazy drinking games that leave you completely paralysed.
You’re looking forward to a well deserved night out with the boys, to socialise, drink the night away and possibly, depending on your luck, maybe even pick up! But the last thing on your bucket list is to get in a fight and usually when a fight sparks you have no choice but to arch up and defend yourself (it’s a guy thing).
There’s nothing worse when some drunk low-life decides it would be fun to start on you because he thinks you looked at him the wrong way or worse scenario his slut of a girlfriend is talking to you and you cop the blame.
And chances are you only know how to fight by watching WWE on the weekends, or the occasional boxing match in your backyard with your friends and on the opposition team they probably don’t know much more. It is all street fighting and whoever can get the best hit is declared the winner, which is unfair and stupid.
Tips on how to avoid that situation, unless of course you like to fight, then ignore the following:
Number 1: If a fight breaks out, forget your ego, you won’t need it.
Number 2: Maintain eye contact with potential shit starters.
Number 3: Let your mates know about the person who has a problem with you.
Number 4: Let higher authority know, even if they don’t help.
Number 5: Think twice about fighting, it may result in a ban from the club (there goes the weekend fun).
Number 6: Talk your way out of it.
Number 7: Walk away.
Number 8: Ignore the insults and negative comments.
Number 9: For future reference, learn how to fight.
Number 10: Don’t fight someone who is twice the size of you.
Being a guy, it is inevitable getting into a fight. Somehow if you look tough, got a drink in your hand, have tattoos, and all the girls around you, it will certainly spark some jealously in the room. Guys like to fight for purpose or to prove a point, and get attention; there is nothing more interesting when a fight in a club occurs and then it gets taken outside to continue! Everyone’s faces are pressed up against the glass or running onto the street to spectate!
It is very amusing and entertaining for the audience, but the spotlight on the two brawlers wont last long, next weekend something else will happen and that fight will be old news!
It is not worth it, get off your high horses and enjoy the night out with YOUR friends and don’t stir other people up. No one thinks big of you.
