Though we’re all going to be hungover beyond belief on January 1st anyway, that certainly won’t stop peeps from continuing the party (New Years Day is a public holiday, after all). Besides us not willing to give into our hangover’s attempts at ruining the start of 2013 for us, the Espy is holding their fifth annual Raise The Roof party on Tuesday 1 January.
Showcasing the best hip hop acts in Australia, the line up is friggin’ impressive. Adelaide group Funkoars will be headlining the goings on of The Gershwin Room, their commentary on life, getting loose and “professional” partying (if there is such a thing), while Melbourne rapper Pegz will be leading the way in the front bar with his humourous clever lyricism and biting commentary.
Despite being the headliners, those are only but two of the acts Melbourne hip hop fans will be treated to. Also performing are Mantra, Briggs, Bam Bam, Mase n Mattic, Mr Grevis, Dylan Joel, Ciecmate, Deece, BMac, DJ Jai-K, Elegy, and DJ Moonshine. There will also be an Aussie hip hop video show hosted by DJ Flagrant (that’ll be something!)
With all these rad beats and rhymes happening between 6pm-1am, tix are $23 from Oztix.
