Many scoff when they hear Aussies trying to rap, with thoughts of them being wannabe Americans or just lame. The Homegrown Hip Hop Night at The Esplanade Hotel will showcase local rappers performing their very own rhymes that will show these guys are the furthest thing from wannabes.
Hip hop artist Mantra is headlining, already considered a benchmark in Aussie hip hop after releasing his two independent albums Power Of The Spoken and Speaking Volumes. Having been labelled “your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper”, it’s obvious that there’s a lot of buzz about Mantra already.
Supporting acts include Dylan Joel, Remi, & Flagrant to get y’all pumped up with local rap that has nothing to do with the ghettos of L.A. or New York.
This event will be happening on Friday 12 October at 9pm, and best of all, it’s free entry! They’re not even charging to bust some rhymes for you! Who knows, the next 360 might be performing that night and you get to brag that you were into them before they famous.
