Clubbing when single and clubbing when taken result in very, very different nights out. In one instance, the pressure’s on and you’re on the prowl, in the other not so much. Some believe the certain lack of adrenaline to the heart (and that very special place between your legs), makes the once-upon-a-time favourite pastime completely unenjoyable. Others continue to club throughout long term relationships claiming there to be no difference. So is clubbing as good when you have that special someone texting you sweet nothings (and asking what time you’ll be home later tonight)?
Yes
Having a partner, if anything, breathes a fresh new light into the clubbing arena. The stress of finding someone to hit on is completely released, and the odd wink or compliment tends to catch you completely off guard. You don’t have to worry about wearing that excruciatingly tight push up bra (the one that cuts off circulation come 12am). You’re free to wear flats, avoid blood blisters for the sake of picking up, and when compliments come your way you know they’re genuine, not based on the size of your on-show chest.
No
Clubs (depending on the venue) can often feel like a butcher. Everyone’s out shopping for the right sausage. So when you’ve got your meal waiting for you at home, why would you bother with cues and cash? When you refuse to return that creepy guy some much needed affection he simply squeezes tighter- somehow saying “I have a boyfriend” seems to be completely laughable. Come half way through the night and every one of your friends is spending some quality (or quickie) time alone with their man of the hour, while you’re left flying solo at the bar- making you look even more single, when clearly, you’re anything but.
