Australian regional tour, Groovin’ The Moo, has announced five new additions to the bill for the May festival. Stillwater Giants, Stateovmind, Boatfriends, Kate Martin and Grand Perceptor have all won a spot on the tour spanning regions such as Bendigo, Townsville, Maitland and Bunbury.
Never heard of them before? You’re not alone.
For some of the independent bands discovered through triple j Unearthed, this will be their first festival, a concerning fact for fans who have paid over $100 a pop per ticket, and for bigger name bands who missed out on a spot in the line up.
Only time will tell whether the upcoming bands will live up to stellar Groovin’ The Moo expectations.
The new additions will join the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, 360, Hilltop Hoods and Digitalism, hoping to impress thousands of fans across Australia.
What’s your view on the new Groovin’ The Moo line up? Are too many unknowns seeping through the cracks? Or are you glad to see independent musicians being given a chance in the live music scene?
