There is a reason Luxe Bar is known as Perth’s premier cocktail lounge: it’s because it’s true. The Luxe Bar on Beaufort Street in Perth’s uber-trendy suburb of Mt Lawley is one of finest bars in the state. Classy and elegant the bar specialises in cocktails but also carries a selection of wine, champagne and beer. Luxe is not for those looking for a wild night, with the clientele ranging between 25 and 40 all immaculately dressed and perfectly behaved.
Luxe Bar makes it worth the effort of dressing up simply by providing excellent cocktails in elegant surroundings. The bartenders definitely know their stuff and are fascinating to watch as they mix, muddle and shake. Cocktail prices range from $17-$20 and are worth waiting for, made from freshly squeezed juices and good quality spirits these are what the Luxe Bar is renowned for. The Expresso Martini made with freshly brewed coffee was divine as was the Summer Spritzer a refreshing and zesty drink with flavours of cucumber, mint, orange and watermelon, perfect for warm Perth nights.
When you first enter Luxe you will walk into a room full of warm, rich tones. Different shades of gold and brown give the cocktail lounge an almost classic 70’s feel with plush sofas and armchairs draped in velvets and layered in cushions. Down the stairs lies the red room, a small private area decked out in sexy apple red. The red room is a favorite for people having parties and functions and can be hired out. With it’s private bar and DJ booth, which also has an iPod jack, you are free to tailor the music to you and your guest’s tastes. Not to be forgotten is Luxe’s outdoor area bamBoo, which is open only between the months of October and May an ideal location to sip a drink and enjoy a beautiful spring or summer night.
Luxe is pure luxury, decadent drinks and stylish customers combine to create an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. This is a bar to relax and enjoy an evening with friends in. A place where you can have conversations when there is no need to shout at one another to be heard of deafening dance beats. Arrive early and well dressed if you want to skip the line and get a seat inside but even if you have to queue just think of the drinks waiting beyond the doors. This place is sheer perfection.
