Central Lounge Bar and Dining Review

The best place to start your night out! So you’re looking for somewhere to start your night, somewhere that’s easy to meet up with friends, dinner and cocktails perhaps, somewhere…central. Well look no further than Central Lounge Bar and Dining to accompany all these needs and more!

Easy to find and in the heart of surfers next to some of tinsel town’s hotspots Vanity, Sin City and Players Showgirls, Central makes an ideal venue when planning a night out.

Complete with multiple plasma TV’s and a “Central” water feature, it makes an ideal location with an indoor and outdoor setting that combine to create a perfect starting point, particularly if its dinner and drinks you’re after. Starters on the menu include salt & pepper calamari, duck spring rolls, coconut prawns and twice cooked pork belly with prices ranging at $9.90-$15.

For mains you will find a good variety of items from seafood to pizza and pasta. All the main items are reasonably priced at $24.90 – $27.90 considering the quality and quantity of food being served. Or if you’re in the mood of splurging, you can’t go wrong with the ‘surf and turf’ featuring 250g succulent eye fillet steak, king prawns and Moreton Bay bugs poached in a garlic and chive sauce.

Morning people (if there are any within the late night party district!) will be pleased to find that Central is now open for breakfast bright and early from 8am.Items on the menu include banana bread, fruit salad, toasted bagel as well as bacon and eggs all for $10 or less! Or if you’re recovering from a serious hangover and it’s a big greasy breakfast you need, try the ‘Central Big Breakfast’ complete with bacon, poached eggs, grilled tomato, beef, mushroom and hash brown with thick toast at only $17.

But let’s not forget about those drinks!

Central offers a great range of signature cocktails including the sweet yet surprisingly sour ‘Avatar’ or for the ladies try the S.A.B cocktail made with from fresh muddled strawberries, basil sugar syrup, raspberry vodka and flavoured gin, trust me when I say you’ll be going back for more!

But for something more decadent, you will be pleased to find that Central also specialise in a range of creamy dessert cocktails like the ‘Cookies & Cream’, ‘Snickers Bar’ or ‘Terry’s Chocolate Orange’.

The age of patron’s at Central heavily consist of people aged early 20’s and above, but don’t be surprised if you spot a few 18 year olds out and about enjoying the famous Surfer’s pub crawls, as Central is at the heart and therefore right next to popular clubbing venues within the district.

While the venue is also considerate of being family friendly and supplying a kids menu and a free ice-cream with any kids meal purchase, it is not recommended as a family destination, especially in the later evenings as Cavill Ave once again becomes home to the party creatures of the night. But if you’ve got any upcoming events that require a host venue, Central also offers function hire catering for all sorts of occasions, for as small as four or for as large as 150 people. Choose from a table, a booth or the entire lounge as well as choice from set menu’s and platter’s that are suitable to any budget.
