The Varsity Tavern has something for everyone; providing the perfect mix of classy and casual for a great night out! There is endless dining and entertainment options with a choice of two bars and both indoor and outdoor areas complete with stylish and sophisticated décor. Whatever occasion you’re planning the Varsity Tavern is the perfect venue for you.

The first bar is in an open area located between the restaurant and the pokies, providing a perfect laid back setting for those looking to take a break or get in some quiet conversation. The second is situated in a separate section of the tavern, with the choice of bar stools or lounges; the black and red colour scheme provides a great place for those more in the mood for a party and some fun. Both bars have black leather lounges which makes them the perfect places to lounge in comfort, complete with soft, warm mood lighting. Depending on the night, the outdoor seating area can either provide a quiet place with a fresh breeze for those looking to step back from the action or an energetic continuation of the inside action.

The cheap drinks and range of entertainment attract a mixed crowd; the style of the venue draws in more sophisticated customers, while its convenient location brings those inclined to casual after work drinks. The tavern’s crowd ranges from about 18-35 years and being so close to Bond Uni, students feel right at home, with the recent return of their famous Thursday uni nights including entertainment and cheap drinks from 8pm. You don’t have to be a student to enjoy yourself here, other popular draws include competitions, promotions, pokies, TAB facilities, pool tables, live sports telecasts, Texas Hold ‘em Poker, and live entertainment.

The best thing about the Varsity Tavern is the endless entertainment options and different bars and seating areas to enjoy. No matter who you are or your reason for a night out, there is a spot within the tavern that will make you feel right at home. They have a broad range of drinks on offer, with the average schooner of beer costing around $5.50 and RTD’s setting you back about $10.The tavern is open daily till 1am and is in a prime location, making it a great place for a more laid back weekend or a pit-stop on the way to a big night out. There’s plenty of parking and public transport is close by. For those looking to continue their night out, it’s just a straight shot up Bermuda Street, 10 minutes to Broady or 15 to Surfers.
