The Envy Hotel Review

After weeks of hearing just how amazing the Envy Hotel in Broadbeach was, I decided to take it upon myself to find out what really went on at the Coast’s newest club.

Waiting anxiously in a line 100 meters long was beginning to put me off, but after a painful 20-minute wait and an acceptable $10 entry fee I was on my way inside.

Immediately I fell in love with this club. I’m unsure if it was the completely white interior or the enticing three levels, but Envy took my breath away just by walking into the foyer.

The first level was bright white with eye catching neon lights at all angles. The dance floor was filled with girls in their twenties and the lounge chairs was clearly the spot for those in their thirties. The first dance floor boasted song’s from the 80′ and 90’s, and every new song would see a rush to the dance floor from a group of older ladies who had heard a song from their past.

Moving upstairs we reached the lounge bar which was much darker than the dream-like theme of downstairs. There was only a small dance floor with a couple of girls dancing, and most people had made their way out to the balcony for a cigarette. The crowd were all nice and chatty, not a common trait to be found in most Gold Coasters who party in Broadbeach.

At last we reached the final floor – the top level and main dance floor – the crowd was pumped up, dancing like crazy and stomping the floor. While sitting back watching all the action, I spotted a girl from across the room looking at what seems to be a window and doing her hair, pushing up her bra and putting lippy on; I then realise that this window the girl is looking out of is in fact coming from the girls toilets.

Girls, please: when you go to Envy please remember that the whole dance floor can see you in the toilets due to these windows. One side of the window is the mirror of the ladies bathroom, the other is clear glass looking out to the whole upstairs level. Going to the toilet with the door open so you can talk to your friends is not a great idea unless your idea of fun is showing an entire club how you use the toilet.

This club has everything going for it: three levels of music, beautiful interior, a balcony and friendly people. When I was charged $10 for one standard spirit I didn’t even take notice because of how great the club was and the fun that I was having there.

In reality, Envy is the perfect club to take friends who you want to show off a club to. It has a great vibe with so much energy. The music was alright – not the greatest, but the 80’s flashback’s coming from downstairs was fun for a while and the upstairs house music was good to dance to… but I think I heard the same Lady Gaga song around three times.All in all, Envy proved to live up to my high expectations. It truly is one of the premier entertainment destinations on the Coast.
