There is absolutely nothing worse than someone with bad breath (followed closely by bad body odour). It’s even worse if you’ve been waiting all night to kiss the cutie at the bar only to find out they have morning breath at night! We all know that regular brushing, flossing and using mouth wash are the cures for bad breath, but that’s not exactly accessible when out at a club. More often than not, the bad breath is caused by the mixture of alcohol and food that has been consumed when partying the night away. We know you’re not likely to give up on the alcohol, so instead, here are five foods you should avoid when clubbing.
1. GARLIC GARLIC GARLIC. Basically anything containing garlic will stain your breath, so do not eat garlic if you are planning on picking up. It will also most likely come back up when burping, letting out worse smelling breath then when you first consumed it.
2. Mexican. It tastes delicious when eating it, but doesn’t taste so good when eating it through the person you’re kissing. Cheese, salsa, beans and chicken together do not make for nice breath.
3. Tuna. Some like it, some hate it. Almost all hate the smell of it or anything fishy for that matter. Don’t run the risk of hoping the person you’re about to kiss likes tuna, chances are, they don’t.
4. Pizza. Chances are, pizza will be on the menu once the drinking has started. Now think of the all the combinations pizza contains: cheese, ham, sauce (garlic, bbq, mayo) anchovies, pineapple, capsicum and many more. Now think of kissing that? Not appealing at all.
5. Steak. Although delicious, especially when drowned in Diane sauce, steak tends to get stuck in your teeth. Meat left in your teeth pretty much smells rotten. No-one will kiss someone with rotten breath.
It’s not hard to realise what food smells bad and what food smells worse when you can taste it on someone else. If you do happen to forget and eat any of the above while out, always consume water after to wash out the toxins and chew gum, lots and lots of gum.
