What To Expect At The Drawing Room
Written by Karolina Firman
The Drawing Room is a Spanish themed pub/restaurant in Crace, and has some of the best Spanish food I have ever had the pleasure to eat. First off they have great customer service, they do table service and are very polite, friendly and attentive.
Secondly, delicious food really great Spanish food, we had the paella, gnnochi and a share plate for one (it wasn’t intentional, they didn’t have what I wanted so I unintentionally had a ‘selfish plate’). This included warm bread, a prawn, three kinds of dip and some tasty calamari. It was all super delicious, and they had a great desert menu as well with such deserts as a Banoffee breakdown and tobelerone cheesecake.
Furthermore, they have some of the best sangria that you can get in Canberra (one of my friends was really excited by it as she’s a huge fan of Spanish food). As well as some really nice locally brewed craft beers, I recommend the Majura Brown ale it was exactly what I wanted in a beer. A nice balance of hops, with a rich smooth flavour, it was the best beer I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
This restaurant doesn’t have live music, but the friendly atmosphere and good lighting more than makes up for it. Many of the people were younger, around the 20-30 age group, but it wasn’t decorated in a way that discourages anyone.
Indeed they’re really accommodating, in that many of the dishes can be made dairy free, vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants a good dinner, in good surroundings.
