On the corner of Melbourne’s lively Sydney Road and Brunswick Road, Bridie O’Reilly’s offers the chance to grab a bite of the one of the best Chicken Parmigianas in the area, or dance the night away on its cosy dance floor.

“Bridie’s”, as it’s affectionately known as amongst regulars, is divided into two areas—the quiet area (before midnight) full of booths, couches and tables for patrons waiting for friends, or for those in the area willing to wet their whistles with a pint or cocktail. The second main area is for the party-hardy people who want to dance the night away, in euphoria, to some of the best of contemporary house and old-school classics.

The dancefloor and stage aren’t particularly big, so expect to feel the squeeze once the place gets rocking past midnight. The bartenders are always friendly and always in a partying mood when they’re topping up your glass. After a few dances and drinks, you will feel the need for some fresh air—and there’s no better place for it then its beer garden. With an array of benches and tables, there’s always room for you to share stories with your friends about who’s cute and who needs another drink.
