Tatler
Tatler, Sydney’s original small bar has been reclaimed by Sydney boys Brendan Watson and Tim Clark. The duo labored over the venue, fashioning a smooth and sophisticated tone in the underground setting rich with history. Open from 6pm, the basement of what was once an artist’s stately home, is now a place for unpretentious sophistcats to settle in and enjoy a modern take on the days and very late nights of old. Inspired by the leftovers of last night’s soiree, the food menu is simple and can be shared between friends, even in the earliest hours of the morning as the kitchen remains open until close each night. The music at Tatler is as tasteful as the venue itself. On Wednesday and Thursday Tatler is “Live till Midnight” with live jazz and soul combined with electronica setting the scene, whereas other nights DJ’s perform from 10pm and work the crowd from a disco vibe into classic dance tracks, the ones that have you dancing on tables at 4am. For those looking for a classy pre dinner cocktail, a midnight snack or just a late night cleanser, Tatler and its timeless surrounds yield the perfect ambiance. The Darlinghurst hideaway is all class, an institution for its people to relish and enjoy.
