The Harlequin Inn, or the “Harley” as it’s branded by the locals, is one of Sydney’s most authentic sporting pubs and particularly loyal in its love for rugby. Located in Pyrmont, it is conveniently just a 5 minute walk to Darling Harbour and the CBD. Its prime location makes it a popular venue for those who enjoy a nice cold beer, great atmosphere and even better entertainment! The Harlequin Inn also acts as a fantastic venue for functions in its open layout with 145 degree views, and also both small and large function places which can hold up to 300 people. The Harlequin Inn also has a great outdoor court yard with sufficient TVs showing all live sporting events is a must for those who enjoy there sports and enjoy a drink outside.

Given its deep rugby history, the Harlequin Inn has an array of rugby memorabilia displayed throughout the entire venue. With 2 projection screens and over 15 TVs spread out throughout the entire pub, there is no way anyone can miss a single bit of the action. Being the home of the All Blacks Supporters Club Sydney (ABSCS), patrons are usually varied in their age group, but mutual in their agenda… Rugby matches! From its deep grass roots of New Zealand culture “Kia Ora”, translating to “hello/welcome”, will get you far with the locals. Not only are the locals friendly and welcoming, but boy do they know how to party and with events held every night during the week, there is no time for sleeping. Monday nights are poker nights, Tuesday is for the beloved trivia, Wednesday is for the ladies with free manicures from 6pm, Thursday is “Jag the Joker” with an opportunity to win a jackpot and Friday is magician night with the most bizarre live tricks performed on patrons which are surely going to have your head spinning.

In regards to drinks and food, the Harlequin Inn does not lack specialty at all. Within the pub there is a Thai restaurant which offers classic yummy cuisines in generous portions. And it wouldn’t be a pub without some great drinks, the Harlequin Inn offers an enormous choice of imported, domestic and boutique beers, and every day there are drinks on special for all the favourites across the bar including both wines and spirits. Both the food and drinks are relatively cheap and will not leave you unsatisfied.

With food, drinks and the entertainment at top notch quality, it is no surprise that the crowd is extremely lively and hospitable. The crowd is always so diverse and regardless of what night you go, you can be guaranteed to have a great chat with one of the locals about anything and everything till all hours. Give yourself a few nights at the Harlequin and you can be guaranteed to make many friends and wanting to be coming back for more!
